Issue beret. Wool crown with leather band. Small crown which shrinks well and leather band can be stretched to fit. Measure your head all the way round and order a tight fit so that after shrinking and shaping the band will be snug. You can always stretch a leather band to fit. Standard is plain leather band, victors is small crown with leather band and bow, officers is small crown with leather band and bow with a silk material lining.

My original beret issued in 1971 is a wee bit shabby so can't really wear it on Remembrance Sunday or veterans funerals any more

Hi,
I bought the SAS beret for 6 year old son, and the leather rim band has missed stitched in many places.
The leather rim band is going to come off quite quickly, as the stitching will run when it comes undone.
