Got the later version earlier in the year and took a chance on the American made version despite the possible problems in the description.
This is slightly shorter in the body but better for me and no issues with corrosion.

Very good quality piece of kit, just what is needed to enable layering in poor weather of all descriptions. Only criticism is that the hood didn’t have a wired peak although my sons did ( mine a L his a M ). This makes a big difference if you wear glasses. On the plus side the L had a giant map pocket, unusual now in branded stuff.
A smart, clean jacket in excellent condition with only signs of wear on the front zip toggle and odd threads caught on the Velcro front closure. I ordered the medium size and it fits well (my chest size is between 36 and 38) and the fitting allows for several layers of clothing underneath. The first thing I did was to give it a machine wash with tech wash followed by a waterproofing wash to ensure the goretex works well. Although not tested in wet conductor yet I have every confidence that this will keep me dry. Worth the relatively modest cost.
I needed a watch with water resistance and didn't want the GS Sapphire due to it being too similar to a standard G10 which I already have.
I wasn't disappointed. The same G10 shape but bigger with more 'wrist presence'. A clear no nonsense easy to read face with 'aged' looking lume which, for me, the Coyote strap compliments more than the grey it comes with.
This looks and feels like a watch that will give years of service at a great price and anyone thinking about the G40 go for it, you won't be disappointed.

I have been an admirer of CWC watches ever since being issued with my Fatboy back in 1982, which I still have and is still going strong.
I'd been looking for a while and kept coming back to the Falcon and the Sea Falcon. I already have a divers watch so dismissed the Sea Falcon and went for the standard Falcon Quartz Chrono.
I wasn't disappointed. This is a beautifully made and beautiful looking watch with a solid feel and 'wrist presence' in bucket loads. I have tried different straps but for me the standard grey Nato it comes with shows it at it's best.
A well weighted watch with a solid accurate movement when using the chrono which gives you confidence that it will give years of accurate service.
Downside. At this price 3 ATM/splash proof is poor but that is not what this watch is about, hence the Sea Falcon.
If you are contemplating the Falcon you will not be dissappointed.

It's uk legal and ideal for edc and repairing things and carving spoons I love mine but need to watch fingers closing it quite a snap
